Policy Highlights
Optional Lateral Hire/Prior Acts Where no other insurance exists, the LPL can provide coverage for claims both first made and reported during the policy period regardless of whether the act or omission was performed for the named insured.
Deductible on an aggregate basis is provided, with optional per claim deductible available.
Supplementary Payments to offset loss of earnings to Insureds for attendance at trials, hearings, etc., and to offset Insured's expenses in defending disciplinary matters. (Per day/suit limit(s) apply)
Title Agent Services are covered at no additional cost for attorneys who perform title agents services for their clients.
Mediators/Arbitrators services are covered at no additional cost.
Notary Public Services are covered at no additional cost.
Coverage of Non-Attorneys is provided for services performed in the course and scope of employment with the insured firm.
Coverage of heirs, executors, etc. is automatic upon death or disability of insured.
Personal Injury coverage is included in the definition of a claim.
Arbitration Proceedings initiated against the insured are included in the definition of a claim.
Innocent Insured Coverage - the policy waives the exclusion that would otherwise apply for dishonest, fraudulent, criminal or malicious acts or omissions, as pertains to an "innocent insured."
Liberalization clause exists so that Insureds receive the benefits of non-optional coverage enhancements implemented during the Insured's policy term.
Two-Way Extended Reporting Period provides automatic extension of the claims reporting period, even if the insured cancels the policy.
Automatic Extended Reporting Period is provided for 60 days following policy termination.
Optional Extended Reporting Period is available for one, three or six years - or for an unlimited time. The premium is established at policy inception, and the insured has a 60 day window to elect one of the options.
Death or Disability Extended Reporting Period is provided at no additional charge.
Retirement/Non-practicing Extended Reporting Period is available at no charge to Insureds who have been covered by the LPL for three consecutive years.
Reinstatement of Policy Limits for claims reported during automatic or optional Extended Reporting Period when Insured cancels or refuses renewal of policy.
